NEW DIVISION????

At a recent WPPSA League one was allowed to enter Standard/minor
division.
Is this a new Sapsa/Ipsc division or is it just WPPSA
using ther initiative to cater for 9m shooters like myself.

Standard minor has been around since the division was started.where do you think the chancers go when they don't make factor !

Ha, ha, luckily that has not yet happened to me.

The devision has been around all this time and there are more people competing in it than you may think. I think it was Goose Tereblanche that even got his national colours while shooting minor in the standard gun diviosion ... so it can be done.

I shot std minor for a long time. 9mm Star 30M, because we couldn't find original Star parts such as grips, sights exc. Alpha's count the same as the std Major's!!

I shot with Goose in that team in '96 in Brazil. He was shooting a 40 Glock, as he did at the Nationals to make the team.

Maybe you are thinking Production Gun? Everybody is scored minor regardless. If your gun appears on the Production Gun list you can shoot in this division.

I am talking before that ... but then, that is what I was told by one of the Airforce guys that used to shoot with him so I may be mistaken ...

You are almost correct! He used to practice with a 9mm Glock (free SADF ammo) and shoot competition with the 40. He came 9th in Brazil and was the top SA Std gun at that shoot.
