Yet another example of the double standards that are levelled against firearm owners. The Firearms Control Act give the SAPS the power to do what the want. This is yet example of the ingringements of our rights and the constituition.

Please consider the following for publication

I refer to your article Man in arres nadat hy inbreker in huis skiet , 2011-06-22 09:48, and cannot but commend the individual for having the courage to defend his life and his property. It is ironic that the very organization, the SAPS, that should be defending us have arrested him. Where is the sense in that? Then again, the very same SAPS are hell bent on disarming the population of South Africa using the draconian and controversial Firearms Control Act. This act will render all law abiding citizens in South Africa defenceless against this time of criminal and home invasion! In time to come, the brave individual mentioned above would have probably suffered severe injuries or become yet another murder statistic in this beautiful country of ours!

I always check News24 1st thing in the morning and it scares me.
This morning I read the article mentioned above and one wrt police assault in PTA.
I do consider the fine details important but at the core it is the perception of the reader that matter.

It really demotivates me as a firearm owner and as citizen reading this, but hey, it's just me.
