    Default Bushnel Banner 3-9x40 scope

    Hi all,

I bought my first rifle today a Weatherby .30-06 synthetic package with above scope any feedback is it any good? I am a new hunter so still learning, will it do the job that a good scope would do? Your feedback would be appreciated.

Can't comment on the banner, but I have used the legend 3-9x40 and has served me well. The legend are clear and track well.

Hi, I'm currently using the Bushnell Banner 3-9x40 (shotgun/muzzle loader scope) ie the one with long eye relief. It is currently doing service on the 30-06. Found that the picture is a bit blurry round the edges on at x9 power. Currently on x6 power and it is more than enough out to 200m.

There are better scopes out there, but it will give good service for now.

Bought a Banner with illuminated reticle, and after a couple of rounds out of a mini-14 the lens started rotating inside the scope. Point of aim/impact is still pretty much ok, but it's a PITA to shoot with a reticle that's 30-40 degrees skew. There are better options at similar prices. Redfield for one.

Thanks for your feedback, I can upgrade the scope where they will swap the banner and then I will pay in the difference. What is a good scope to put on a .30-06? Should I stay with bushnell, I heard Lynx is good? Your feedback please

Always buy the best optics you can afford, even if yiu need to save uo a bit then do that instead of opting for cheap optics.Lynx provides good value for money if you on a budget and not in the range of the higher end scopes.

Look at what the farmer's use - they look at value for money and reliability - and you will see that Lynx scopes are very common amongst them. That's probably why they still love their Hilux bakkies too.

Been through a similar exercise while waiting for license. To me it comes down to preference (me - long eye relief is top of list) and budget.
Should I "upgrade" the Bushnell I'll look at Redfield, Nikon Monarch or Burris, Leupold and then the "Big Boys" ie Zeiss etc

Nothing wrong with Lynx, my Boet got one on his 30-06 and loves it.

Latest scope I bought was a 3-9x40 Burris. Price was under R3000 but optics is good. Mounted on my 375 and still working. Has a ballistic plex to help in compensating for distance. (VLT Pretoria)
