This range will be run by a team from GUNSITE/SAS. We will try to accomodate all levels of handgun shooters - from the Tannie with a .38 snubbie in her handbag, to the serious pistolshooter covered in velcro and accessories. Trust Camouflage 7,62 and his team to make this a memarable event.

    .22 Junior training:
The instructors from the Waterberg branch of SAHGCA teach youngsters .22 rifle shooting. Whatever you do, dont leave yoour kids at home.

    Active hunting range:
For those who yearn for the hunting experience , yet lack a big bore to compete in the BASA shoot. here is a hunting simulation range for .22 rifles.
Another hunting package to be won.

After the shoot, when we HAVE to stop due to low light conditions : the fires are lit for the venison potjie and braai.
Attend the prize giving, and help us devour two kudus shot for the occasion.

FREE camping at the range, more luxurious accomodation on surrounding game farms.

35 DAYS TO ELLISRAS FIREARMS FESTIVAL:

I am back from my kalahari hunt, and now we can seriously start organizing the festival.

    SAS team confirmed:
It is confirmed that Camo 7,62 's team will be handling the handgun range. It will be something special I am sure.

    Calling all Martini Henry shooters:
    ALL
owners and shooters of .450-577 martini henrys, try to attend the festival. Ken Stewart, of Stewart bullets, has awarded a prize of 10 MH doppies for the winner and 5 MH doppies for the runner up in our MH competition.

If you have a Martini but no ammo - NOW is the time to contact Ken Stewart at 082-298 6779. He makes drawn brass cases, and swaged lead bullets for the .450-577.

Join us for a day of fun.

    THE GOOD NEWS:
We have Ken Stewart, and he supplies Martini Cases and swaged bullets. All the annealing, coldforming etc. is already done for you by Oom Ken. He will bring a supply to the Firearms festival.

    FURTHER GOOD NEWS:
I will have my press set up with .450-577 Martini dies, and reloading scale. Martini owners can just bring their rifles,
primers (large rifle) and Sannadex or black powder.
Oom Ken will demonstrate and instruct you on the loading process.
Cases are R60 each and the bullets R5 each.

(We cannot by law sell reloaded ammo, or reload for somebody else. Allowing the use of our reloading equipment, and supplying inert components such as cases and bullets is perfectly legal though.)

Any Martini owner should consider this offer - even if you dont partake in the shoot, to visit the festival, and leave with some ammo for your 140 year war-horse must surely be worth it.
You can of course empty your cases on the range, and reload them there and then. Saving you the expense of buying the dies and press - in the medium term at least.

We are hoping for lots of shooters in our Martini item.

WHAT'S NEW AT FIREARM FESTIVAL 2011?:

    ProAmm grouping shoot:
We have built 4 new tables at the ProAmm range, bringing the total to 14. This means we will be able to accomodate 40% more shooters at this popular item. In the past we also had a problem with the tables being too close to each other, forcing us to accomodate the left handed shooters at tables 10 and 9 only. After the modifications, tables 1 to 6 are now ambidextrous, 7 to 14 are still righthanded only. Lefties, please ensure that when you book your table it is one of the first six.
Relays are numbered Alpha 1, A2 ....A14, then Bravo 1, B2 ....B14. After relay Zulu, we start again at AlphaAlpha. We usually do the alphabet almost twice.

    Big Bore shoot:
As usual, the BASA guys will build an interesting range with dangerous game trying to stomp, bite and maul you. Only 9,3 mm and bigger allowed on this range. You can enter as many times as you wish, and every time you stand a chance to win our hunting package.
We are still deciding on whether to arrange this package in Botswana again, or in the RSA. There was a problem because of the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Botswana, leading to many hunts in the coountry being cancelled. Be assured though, there will be a hunting package as first prize.

    Active hunting range:
For all those who are turned away at the BASA range, because they dont own a big bore. At this range only .22 rimfire rifles are used. Telescope or open sights the choice is yours.
First prize here is a blue wildebeest hunt on a game ranch at the Palala river.

    Black powder :
Our black powder range is once again run by Michiel Meyer who has extensive knowledge of his subject. You can either compete with your own ML against the experienced shooters, or with a loan weapon against other novices.
Also on this range; the Martini Henry shoot. Ken Stewart will be on standby to assist owners of Martini's to load their own ammunition.

    Handgun range:
In the past the handgun range did not get enough attention.
This is the past now. We will have instructors from Gunsite - Camouflage 7.62, Bushboy and others, available to help develop the skills of all handgun owners.

    Krieghoff doubles:
SABI rifles, agents for Krieghoff rifles in SA, will have a range where shooters can have the oppurtunity to shoot a double rifle.
The Krieghoff Semprio - donated as a prize in the ProAmm competition will also be available for demonstration.

So, lots of new developments at Firearms Festival. See you there on 27 August.
