Silencer ifluence on grouping
Recently bought a Sako .243 with silencer. Very nice rifle, but I find that the first shot shoots about 1.5 inches high with the silencer on. After that it groups perfectly.
Can anybody tell me why?

Re: Silencer ifluence on grouping
How does the "fouling" shot print without the silencer? And the subsequent shots without the silencer - meaning do you get the same pattern although it might strike the target at another point altogether.
Many barrels will printsthe fouling shot away from its general grouping point and then all settles thereafter, be it with or without a silencer or muzzlebreak or etc.

Re: Silencer ifluence on grouping
If I shoot without the silencer, it groups right from the start. Can the problem be with the silencer. If so can I replace the silencer with a different make, will it have the same length of thread etc...
