    I handed three applications in on the same day. Initially, I was only tracking one, thinking they'd all move at the same pace. Then the app I was tracking was selected for "Quality Control" at Provincial DFO. This pushed my estimated date of arrival at the CFR from 12th July to 18th August.

    I decided to check on the second app - same situation. Just my luck that both apps are selected for QC.

    I then checked on the 3rd app, and was pleasantly surprised to see it is already at the CFR, and "In Preparation for Consideration" as of 17 May. Estimated date of Finalisation is 27 July.

    All 3 applications were submitted on 14th April - Ref #'s 904XXXX

    Our DFO goes to provincial once per month so the only real delay so far was that my 308 application went in a few days after his monthly visit. It seems as though new licences are moving really quickly at the moment.

    @aMATTeur,

    Greetings, yup that's insanely fast, 24 and 46 calendar days.
    Just a FYI the only way you'll be able to track your applications is with the WHERE'S MY APP or Safari Outdoor app on Google play store or PEW - PEW on Apple store or by entering your details on the SAPS website
    https://www.saps.gov.za/services/fir...us_enquiry.php
    and last but not least through Telegram App by searching @SAPS_Firearm_Status_bot

    You won't receive any SMS's throughout, only attention at DFO and approved as far as I know.

    I do use the app but my last three applications gave me SMS notifications every step of the way. It just seems to be random to me. My info hasn't changed and the DFO told me that he has no idea why some people get SMS notifications and others don't.

    Hmmm... first time I've ever heard of someone receiving SMS's throughout the process, interesting.

    Im on 55 working days. App is stuck at quality control for +- 2 months now.

    Took me 1 year to get my comp looks like another year for my license.
    2 years just to get a firearm is madness🙄

    Anyone else stuck at Gauteng Provincial DFO? App has been there since 25 April, can't seem to get hold of anyone to see what's the issues.
