Beretta v CZ o/u shotgun?
Hi guys. Looking at buying a shotgun ( occasional wing shooting & clays ). Budget allows for a second hand/used Beretta or a new CZ. I know The Beretta is one of the best & has an awesome reputation. The CZ shotguns I am looking at are the "REDHEAD" model & "WINGSHOOTER" model. Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with the CZ? Any advice as to what I should buy? Used Beretta or New CZ?

Re: Beretta v CZ o/u shotgun?
i am prejudiced toward italian made shotguns especially O/U.
if the beretta is sound and well looked after , i am almost certain its will be the better buy.
the italians know how to make shotguns.live out your imagination , not your history.

Re: Beretta v CZ o/u shotgun?
Hi all
I've used Beretta shotguns since 1976. My first was an S56E which my son now uses.
We hunt most weekend during the season and shoot clays in the off season. The S56E has had thousands of shots fired and is still in great working order. My current shotgun is a Silver Pigeon 687, about 12 years old and in outstanding mechanical order.
My only experiace of other makes is on the range were I have shot a round or two with my mate's guns, but the feel of the Beretta shotguns is something you have to experiance.
The number of rounds fired through shotguns makes it imperative that the guns are well maintained and used correctly by not slamming the gun when closing or opening.Cleaned regularly after shooting.
Ask the current owner if you can shoot the Berreta, fit is also important.
A little of topic,if you want to see both Beretta's refered to above go to the Wingshooting forum under redwing shooting you will see both guns down birds over my pointers.
Go for the Beretta if the condition is good.

Skip the CZ.. their shotguns are mostly Turkish, well defnitly the Redhead...2nd hand Beretta/Browning will be a good bet..

Hey mswart. I'm in the same boat as you and because my father is Italian (and because Italian guns have been know to be very good) I also am interested in a Beretta if my budget will get there!
