    Hi all, do any of you know where I can get blackpowder for my Vortek? What can I expect to pay for it?

    Can you still call it "black" power? Is it nor more politically correct to call it previously disadvantaged powder?

    Buschalk (real black stinky stuff) is available for about R220 per tin, as well as Sannadex. Wano is available for about R300 per 500g. Swis @ R960 per 500g.
    The flint and musket in Brits wil always have some in stock (with the exception of Swis)

    I would assume that Sannadex is better than buschalk as the Sannadex does not fowl the barrel as mutch?

    Yes, Sannadex does not fowl as much is the real stuff, BUT it's very hygroscopic.

    What is the loads that is recommended on Buschalk on a .50cal for a 300gr bullet?

    300 grains is very light, so I assume you are referring to sabot?
    In any case, shooting such a light bullet out of the .50cal with a 1-28 twist, and also depending on your specific rifle, then a load of 70 - 90 grains should work.
