Surefire 60rd magazine
Just took delivery a few minutes ago one one of these. I ran several rounds thru two last week that a friend owns and simply could not stand it until I also had one.
Yes, you can go prone, no problem. Yes, they are reliable...very. No, they don't weigh that much more than a 30 rounder. Yes, they will be a force in 3 Gun very soon I think.

Fascinating. How does the follower work?

Re: Surefire 60rd magazine
Uses a stacked spring and two piece follower combination that looks like something made in a Russian car factory, but it does work...I'll get some details and post ASAP...
Pivo...yes I'm in the states for now and I have no idea if anyone will ship these or not. If the 30's are difficult to get these might be even more so...Run Fast, Bite Hard!

Re: Surefire 60rd magazine
I wonder if they changed the follower since March?
The one I checked out at IWA had a follower that badly tilted with little effort when pressing down on the follower in an empty mag.

Re: Surefire 60rd magazine
Yes, the follower will tilt, but remember that this is an entirely new setup and totally different from the 20 and 30 rounders. The tilt in the empty SF apparently effects nothing...it still feeds just fine. The HK magazines, which have documented problems feeding, have followers that don't tilt and are as smooth as silk, so we'll see, The 60rd SF's have been in use for a while now in combat and are very likely to soon be standard issue for the USMC IAR.
