Just bought a new Emerson Gentleman Jim (I love me some Emerson) and a steal of a deal on a Benchmade Lum 760BK LFTi...just over half price NIB

The remote possibility of an Emerson liner lock failing and the blade without a choil closing on the index finger just keeps me away.

Does Emerson make any frame lock knives?

Yes they do, but are vary rare! The HD 7 is a great knife, many people convert their Emersons to framelocks. I think Emerson knives are some of the most modified in the States.

Congrats on the fine knives, the Benchmade with CPM-M4 should be a killer blade!

Khumba...I don't worry about the high quality blades such as the Emersons unlocking...all of mine (I have several) lock up like bank vaults and I have never seen one fail. That is not to say it can't happen but trying to make one fail is not the same as a failure while in use. He does make a few frame locks now and then, but as mentioned they are high bucks. No doubt a fixed blade is stronger, however, than anyone's folder.

The Benchmade was picked up because I could not resist the price. Generally I am not a huge fan of tanto blades, and my guess is I will either resell this one or put it away. I carry either one of the Emersons or my old standby...an Endura. I have come to really like the wave feature on the Emersons.
