Skateboard Tape

Mods: if this post is in wrong section please move. (Posting here seeing as it is knife related, ie. for pocket clip)

Does anyone perhaps know where I can find "skateboard tape" or something similar? If anyone can refer me to a place in Port Elizabeth that will be a bonus.

Just phoned a local 3M dealer. Was quoted R538 for a 18 meter roll . That is a bit harsh considering I only need about 60mm of the stuff, lol.

I just need it to put on the pocket clip of my EDC folder. Anything you guys can recommend?

I went to a local skateboard shop and asked for some - and said I need a piece 5cmx5cm. The bleached oke behind the counter cut me a piece there and then - gratis.

you can buy cloth backed sandpaper (think its called emery cloth) at most hardware stores. it doesn't have the peel 'n stick backing, but a good glue will do the job

Will see if one of the local surf shops can help me out. And if that fails its off to the hardware store for some emery cloth and locktite!!

You may be able to get it at a good Home Center or large hardware store as 'stair tread' or 'ladder tread' tape...same stuff with the adhesive backing in different widths, and usually sold by the foot / meter etc. Much cheaper too.

Just go to a skate boarding shop. I went to one called "Boogaloos" and bought a piece about a metre long by 30cm wide for R50. Use it on all my pistol and shotgun grips and pump action fore end grips. on the pistols i put a strip on the front of the grip. It works very well and there is plenty to spare to give to the buddies...

We dont have any skateboarding shops around here, but will see if a surfshop can help me out.
