    Default Matthew Rogers blade.

My nephew has a knife that he found in his grandfathers old fishing box. Ill try get a pic, but its basically a small fixed blade, with bowie type shape about 4 inches long. On the blade is engraved / stamped William Rogers, Sheffield. According to his grandfather the knife had belonged to his uncle and saw service during WW2 in North africa., but he (the grandfather) had used it as a fishing knife. An unusual feature is that it has a built in bottle opener just before the guard. It is showing a fair amount of pitting and corrosion but has stood up to the ravages of time and an old fishing box pretty well. do any of the knife guru's on this site know anything about this blade? History etc?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

yip Joseph Rogers of Sheffield England. They are the company that manufactures the infamous Sykes Fairburn knife, i had one as well. My dad also passed onto me his Joseph Rogers of Sheffield folding Biltong Knife that holds much sentimental value.
