    Default .22LR ejection problem

    I seem to have an ejection problem on my Anschutz .22LR.

    After firing, some rounds get ejected as per normal where as others I have to dig them out of the extractor claws with my finger before I can chamber another round.

    I have looked at the extractor claws and they seem to be ok. Any suggestions to what else I can look at that might identify the problem?

    Thanks

    22LR bullets are waxed or greased. The wax builds up in the chamber and causes hard extraction. Clean the barrel with an oil to get rid of the build up.

    Thanks Driepootx but I think my first explanantion may be ambiguous so I'll try word it differently;
    The fired cartridge is extracted from the chamber but does not eject from the bolt face when the bolt is worked to chamber another round ie it is not being released from the extractor claws.

    The rifle will have an ejector blade against which the spent cartridge bumps to be ejected. This is either at the bottom or in the left side of the receiver.

    I will have a look at that thanks Driepootx.

    If that seems to be the problem, to your knowlege, is it something that can be easily replaced?

    Spares on firearms are normally a pain. Hopefully you have not lost or broken this one. A visit to a gunsmith might not be a bad idea.

    I have had a closer look and it seems that there is a "floor" plate in the receiver that has the ejector blade as part of it and looks like it is held in place by a pin. I will have to remove the stock and see if I can remove this plate for closer inspection of the ejector blade.
