Re: Change of address procedure
Changed mine yesterday. Went to Wiedabrug police station, gave them the change of address form and watched while the police officer updated the system, was in and out in 5 minutes.

Re: Change of address procedure
Reviving an old thread...
I am trying to assist my (elderly) parents with their move into a retirement estate. Their current SAPS is Brooklyn, Pretoria and they are moving to Monument Park, Pretoria (which suburb I assume still falls within jurisdiction of the Brooklyn SAPS). Yes?
Within which time period does one need to lodge the SAPS 521(b) (Change of Address) form with your local SAPS? In addition, would anybody know whether the SAPS need pics of one's newly-installed safe at the new premises? I am also assuming that all FAs can be added to the one form (even if there are more than 4 of them (there seem to only be a place in the form for 4x FAs). Yes?
Does the SAPS need to do another inspection of the installed safe at the new premises?
Any advice and input would be much appreciated. TIA

Re: Change of address procedure
Within 30 days of moving if not mistaken.
With regards to the safe, in my case, I drove to the police station/DFO, told him I have changed address and now fall under his district, he told me he must check the safe at my new premises.
He followed me home, checked the safe, drove back to the station and changed my address in the system while I was watching.

Re: Change of address procedure
I've done two change of addresses (Boschkop and Garsfontein dfo) and neither ever asked to do a safe inspection. Both happily accepted my notification of change and left it at that. If I remember correctly I didn't add pics of the installed safe (wasn't required). But this was 5 years ago, not sure if it has changed.

Re: Change of address procedure
When I changed my address last year I was asked to provide photos of the safe and I completed a form and that's it. No inspection.
When I asked why they do not do inspections the DFO said they don't have the manpower to do so.

Re: Change of address procedure
I recently submitted my change of address form/notification. No inspection of the safe or photos were required.

They recently wanted a certified copy of a utilities bill as a proof of residence and a certified ID Copy as well.
