BRNO 505 Gibbs

Hi everyone,

I might have an opportunity to purchase a Brno 505 Gibbs. The rifle was used by a PH in Botswana. The rifle was used regularly and therefore would need some re-blueing and minor maintance work. The actionand the barrel is still fine.

Considering what a new 505 costs I am seriously considering purchasing this rifle.

Due to the fact that it is used and needs some work I was thinking of paying around R12K.

What do you think?

I will give him R13K. What is his number? Not serious. David, a pH rifle is a lot of times like buying a car from a person in a pensioners village. It is old, but well looked after and not used (driven/shot) a lot. I will not even wonder about it. If the barrel and action is still fine, buy it. A .505 gibbs is also not hard on barrels and for .505 (any Big Bore) MOA accuracy is not the intention. Reblueing and a new stock etc will make the rifle a part of yourself. My opinion - Go for it.
