Re: IDPA concealment
IDPA is a game/sport yes, but also a basic introduction to the fundamentals of shooting, imho.
grip, stance, reloading, etc.
real life tactics/mindset? hell no.
just like people thinking airsoft/paintball suffices by itself. there's no substitute for REAL training, which is sorely lacking in CPT.

21-02-2012, 11:12 #42I am studying an awesome brand of leg fighting which was inspired by dung beetles and I think my brand of Kraft Manure is superior to all other styles ever invented. Furthermore I challenge all other manurists to a rolling contest where we shall establish whose manure ball is the biggest! I shall call it Honest Kraft Manure and declare it superior to all other brands of manure and will tell you that I have claimed the lineage directly to Imshi the great Dragon Kru Master Beetler who invented manuring, by gathering all manure from different animals together and making it work as the worlds most effective fertilizer. I proved myself by being members of not one but three super elite special gardening departments who were responsible for spreading manure to combat weed infestations!

Re: IDPA concealment
The point I'm trying to make is that all the training you do for IDPA will actually result in you gaining muscle memory, that will come out when SHTF, you cannot have one muscle memory for SHTF and one for IDPA... we frail humans don't work that way.
Oh hell no! I think we'll just have to stick to our separate views. I know it'll make a difference to me is all. ;)
TBH I'm trying to do just that. There are also plans afoot for a 360 degree range that have me super excited! I'm not advocating spinning around with your firearm pointing all over the place, but better environmental awareness would be a nice thing to introduce. Would also love more dynamic environments and no course walk through. Of course allot is not practical but things might evolve if we embrace them.
Oh this exactly what I'm after abhm. ;)
Will do just as soon as my credit card has recovered ;)Last edited by Gunna; 21-02-2012 at 11:24.

Re: IDPA concealment
Every SO's nightmare (if you have a 360 degree range then there will be spinning around).
If you want that and want to do it safely then the SO's will need to be professional instructors IMO, which in turn raises the costs (not to mention the insurance premiums) which in turn means less people can afford to do it which leads to the sport dying.
Any sport will have to be a compromise (even training is to a certain extent).Be ready for anything, and if his head is not at least two meters away from the body, do not 'assume' he is dead and out of the fight. - Ikor

Re: IDPA concealment
Ask not what IDPA can do for you, but rather what you can do for IDPA..
