Impala shot this weekend near Swartruggens, NW.
Carcass weight 30kg. Shot at 180m, 308win, 165g Norma Oryx.
Also shot a blesbok, 25kg carcass at 101m 165g Norma oryx and a smaller impala at 50m Sako 165g gamehead pro. Saturday 20km walking, Sunday morning 7km. Smaller impala and blesbok shot on Saturday, larger impala on Sunday. Weird weather for the area for this time of the year, heavy rain on Friday night.

We have recently been blessed with nice weather for ducks and geese in our part of the world
so hunting on weekends has been a real pleasure:

This weekend I hunted with my Springer Spaniel and for some reason some of the images came out very weird, almost as
though they have been doctored:

I stalked and shot two eland cows this morning just before sunrise. This is the second of the two.
In my experience, a few minutes just before sunrise and just after sunset are the easiest time to approach game animals, they seem to be more relaxed and less observant.
