Nah. Shockwave from bullet. Most probably a 6.5 creed.

In this case the bokkie was slightly below us and angling towards us, 300m away. The bullet went through both lungs and exited in front of right hind leg. It went down after staggering ±15 meters. So, as far as terminal performance was concerned it was a good shot.

As for meat damage, meat quality, everything with the exception of the back straps (which ended up on the braai) went to a predator project so that was all good too.
Heh yeah that's true, glad to hear then :P

I love the freaky horns on both animals.

Spent the weekend in the veld, Yay :)
Shot a couple of ribbok, Yay :)
Camped, and slept outside at -15, Ouch :(

But this, this be my trophy for the weekend, my dassie shot at 450m with the 338, it’s one of those “did you see that?" shots you only see once a year.

I took the family hunting this weekend with a rough camping trip as a bonus. Managed to get a nice Kudu bull yesterday morning unfortunately in the most inaccessible part of the farm. We have to skin it there and carry the pieces out. A good four hour work out.

Good shooting, considering the size of the prey and using a medium bore Oriental hunting rifle.

Nice shooting Messor. I'm intrigued as to your scope magnification to hit that small a target?
