Re: Hunting Photos
Hi Len. Nice blue wildebeest. Big body, what weight did it dress out at? Did you hunt it on a private farm or (open) game farm?

Re: Hunting Photos
Hi Deon
Thanks. She tipped the scales at 102kg out of dress.
We hunted at Donkieskraal, just outside of Leipoldtville. It is a open gamefarm. They have a website: www.donkieskraal.co.za with all the contact details and some pictures.
They have a nice variety of game: Kudu, Eland, Blue Wildebeest, Gemsbok, Springbok, Rooibok and Njala.
Accommodation and facilities are great and everything is in stunning condition including the game.

Dave
Accommodation is from R195.00 per night.
BWB = R 2800.00
Kudu = R 3000.00 for the cows and young bulls
Eland = R 25.00 / Kg
I am not sure about the rest.

Re: Hunting Photos
Hi Len B,
I am a big fan of the 303, its currently my hunting rifle too, I like the 5 round magazine, gives the rifle a nice clean look, I'm still trying to decide what scope to upgrade mine to (currently a little Bushnell 4 x 32, which i know is adequate but i still want an upgrade.) and you look like you have quite a monster there, what scope do you use?

Re: Hunting Photos
Hi Lindzeyva
The one on the rifle at the moment is a Lynx 6-24x42. That scope must go onto my 30-06 as soon as I get it and then I will put the 3.5-10x50 back on the .303.

Re: Hunting Photos
Thanks Len
which of the two do you prefer specifically for the 303, i am currently being told so many different things by so many different people as to what is actually needed because of the trajectry issue and not really shooting further than 200m. your opinion would be useful seeing as though you actually shoot with a 303. Thanks again.

Lindseyva
I would have to say the 6-24x42. Purely for the fact it has great magnification and parralux adjustment. You can shoot on the range with 6x and then zoom to 24x to count the holes.
I got the rifle from my grandfather and he shot with it at 1000 yards full scores (and that was without a scope). Distance is not a issue. You have to spend time with your rifle and learn where it shoots.
There is a lot of people on this forum that shoots .303 and will agree.

The thread is for hunting photo's.
By all means, post pics of your 303's, but let there be an animal in the photo with it.A roaring Lion kills no game
