    Default Saps Reservist

Just the section I was looking to post in, I would like to become/joint the saps reservists. The last time I asked I was notified that all the new appointments where on hold and a decision would be made by February. Can anyone tell me if they have heard anything yet regarding this as I feel its my duty to join and give back to the country and not just sit back and bitch.
    Thanks

The moratorium has been lifted. Go to the station either at your place of residence or place of work and have a chat with the reservist co-ordinator.
Beware the killer ræbbit of Caerbannog! Look, that ræbbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide. It's a killer!!! He's got huge, sharp... eh, he can leap about... LOOK AT THE BONES!!!

Though the moratorium has been lifted, the new National Instruction ( which deals with recruitment criteria) has not been finalised or implemented.

I am aware of some stations that are still recruiting in the interim, but they will not be able to issue you with a persal number etc. There is a lot of frustration where people have been 'recruited', but can't begin formalised training etc.

I would recommend as WR says to go have a chat with the reservist coordinator (or Head Reservist), and make your intentions known so that he can contact you at the appropriate time.

Always good to hear that there are still guys wanting to join!!!

which ever way you get in go and help in the charge office, everyone wants to hit the road but you will learn so much in the charge office with a good mentor that will put you ten steps ahead for working outside it will also show how willing you are by volunteering for what many consider the drudge, use any downtime to read the standing orders and practice statements, read the ob etc etc
I am studying an awesome brand of leg fighting which was inspired by dung beetles and I think my brand of Kraft Manure is superior to all other styles ever invented. Furthermore I challenge all other manurists to a rolling contest where we shall establish whose manure ball is the biggest! I shall call it Honest Kraft Manure and declare it superior to all other brands of manure and will tell you that I have claimed the lineage directly to Imshi the great Dragon Kru Master Beetler who invented manuring, by gathering all manure from different animals together and making it work as the worlds most effective fertilizer. I proved myself by being members of not one but three super elite special gardening departments who were responsible for spreading manure to combat weed infestations!

    Agreed!!!

Paperwork and docket skills are non-negotiable. Sadly most guys just want the action, and none of the necessary paperwork.

I've also got a few questions regarding becoming a reservist. Hope the OP doesn't mind me asking. Here goes.

I'm studying to become a lawyer and would like to know if I can sign up to become a reservist. Now my question is, will I be able to do so? Would doing paper work at the station in any way help me when I do qualify? I want to go into a bit of criminal law when I'm done so will the exposure I get in the Police station be beneficial to me in any way?

I really don't mind sitting and doing paper work or what ever else is required. I'm sure by me offering my time I will be helping the station and the reservist guys?

Please tell me if I'm being ridiculous and whether I should drop this idea completely or persue it. If you wish to tell me anything that's private please PM me as I will really appreciate any and all forms of information/suggestions.

    Thanks

If I may offer advice (which is currently in dispute): YES, it will.

Agree with SH, it should give some nice "behind the scenes" background experience.
