    Question Can anyone ID this Franchi?

    Hi folks!

    Could anyone please help me identify this Franchi pump? I have no idea what model/series it is.

    It has very little info stamped on it. What I do know is this:
    * Dates from around 1985-87
    * Is a 12-gauge (12-70 printed on the frame)
    * Mag tube takes 6 shells
    * Stock and fore-end are made from wood, painted black
    * Came with a single bead front-sight
    * It looks pretty close to a SPS-350 PN, but it has a longer mag tube, and and external safety lever

    It is still stock-standard the way you see it in the pics.

    I'd dearly appreciate any help you can give me!

    Thanks so much!
    Eddie

    made for the spanish anti terror unit , i forget their name but will come to me later. ( the ETA was causing separatist sentiments to grow in spain)

    hard laminated wood covered in a polyvinyl type of paint , with weighted foreend that assisted in grip ( extremely well designed then with thumb is correct position) and dampened recoil and muzzle rise.

    the aircraft grade aluminium receiver is cut with a sighting ridge that is very accurate used with the bead on a ramp that is sweated onto the barrel ( 18.5 inch)

    barrel is chrome . 2 sturdy action bars that will prevent binding up the action under stress that will happen with other guns.
    action lock up is like the remington . simple dissembly with fire control that is modular.

    travel safety and speed safety ( garand style).

    its italian but , spain assembled them and during the RSA embargo we imported them as sporting guns.

    stock is compact and ideal for easy handling in a car or house clearing .

    i like to buy it please.

    this gave rise the the PA 12 series with polymer furniture and folding stocks , removeable stocks etc
    also later came with a multitude of barrel add on choke tubes , barrel lengthening tubes , shot scatterers , line throwers and gas launchers.

    did i say i love them?

    no external buttons , but with your fingers one can manipulate it so that you can engage a cut off, load into chamber or top up the magazine tube.
    nicely designed so that topping up the tube is smooth and fluid.
    again with fingers it can be mainuplated to empty the mag tube .

    i love them

    Huh... would never have guessed :D Cannot blame you though, seems like a very sorted shotgun... slick looking to!

    You say no external buttons, but what is that poking out on the opposite side of the trigger guard in this pic?:

    the lever twists from safe to fire and its more of a carry mode
    opposite it is the garand style lever that disconects the trigger and allows the bolt to open and can be used as a safety in a way.

    in the Usa this modular unit was exchanged for the cross bolt type button safety

    i got used to the above and i will stick with that.

    this gun is a hard use tool and made up using excellent materials (metals)
