Re: The unofficial "What did you buy for your gun today" thread
The training facility was running a special. Do the combo proficiency (Rifle, Handgun, Shotgun, Self-loading) and only pay for 3.
When the license rules changed, we only ever did an exam on the laws and no practical. So I thought it wouldn't hurt to have everything current, incase the goal posts shift again.
It was substantially easier to do all 4 proficiencies at once and would recommend that everyone should do it this way, purely out of ease.
You get one book, write one exam and are involved in all 4 practicals.
The guys doing two or three had 3 separate books, had to write 2 or 3 separate exams, which covered the same questions and only differed when labeling the firearm and sat around a lot while waiting for the practical that applied to them.

Re: The unofficial "What did you buy for your gun today" thread
Definitely second this. When I did the 4 proficiencies, the instructor literally placed a self-loading, semi-auto and shotgun next to each other and said "load fire ten rounds from each". So the practical element took about 10 minutes - the handgun was done on it's own using .22 and then 9mm. The semi jammed about 5 times of the ten rounds though..

Re: The unofficial "What did you buy for your gun today" thread
Bought a Tipton Universal Bore Guide and a Bore Tech Bronze Brush for that stubborn fouling.
Question though, what is the cut out in the bristles on the bronze brush meant for?
Here's a link to a nylon one but the bronze one looks exactly the same.
