    Hi Ds J,

I do not know... I still need to decide, but i'd rather go hunt with the 6.5...

Just one thing to keep in mind when hunting with a 50, while the energy figures are certainly impressive, a non vital hit is still going to result in a wounded animal. Once that animal moves out of sight, you are going to have to follow it. Doing that with a rifle of this weight and size is probably not going to be easy or practical. Having a friend with a hunting rifle at hand will save you lots of trouble and the animal a lot of suffering.

    Hi TStone,

Personally i have no intention of hunting with it.

    - I do not think there is a real "Hunting" style bullet for this caliber, unless I have missed it somewhere. (Hunting in the sense of an expanding bullet)

If i ever decide to go hunt i'll keep your advice in mind, thanks!

Thanks. Just thought I'd ask because you have posted in the hunting section.

Hunting an elephant / buffalo / bear etc at a very long range would be an option, but then I would have to ask why?

Carrying the rifle on a walk-and-stalk hunt is unlikely to happen.

    Hi Ds J,

Apologies for posting in hunting section, was intrigued to see if people actually do hunt with it
