LEFT EYE BUT RIGHT HAND?

I am new to pistol shooting and only recently got my Glock 19.I am right handed but my left eye is by far the dominant eye which I always used for shooting rifles while growing up....This was no problem,since I just put the rifle in my left shoulder and use my weak hand for the trigger.

But since I need to grip the pistol in my strong hand, it means the gun is now in my right hand and I still use my left eye.....Is this a problem?

Nope...common actually. Just move the gun maybe a skosh to the left and turn your head a bit so you are sighting primarily with your left eye. The hard part is teaching the long gun, and apparently you have that figured out already.

Ya its not a problem at all if you cross eye dominant. i know many handgun shooters that are. It sumtimes help to tilt your head a little to the right to get a better sight picture

I'm the same, I basically do as ikor suggests. Works fine.

Im a lefty with a right dominant eye, havent had a problem

Its not a prob I'm left eye dominant and right handed. Its easy to shoot a pistol left or right handed. When I get my licence I'll be carry on my left. Rifle is another story for me I struggle to shoot a rifle right handed with open sights.

Yip, same here. Right-handed but left eye dominant. As mentioned by others, and tips given, works fine.

Have to close my left eye when shooting rifle with open sights though...

My left eye is also dominant and i'm right handed and shoot IPSC fine. The only thing that irritates me is most of the rifles you see are right handers. Also had a problem buying a bow, i had to get a left handed bow, but you learn to work around it. If anything my left side has learnt to be more co-ordinated.

Thanks guys!I do feel comfortable shooting this way,and not shooting too bad for a newbie IMO.Just wanted to be sure im not practicing with an incorrect technique.

+1 A rifle is a mother b for me . . . I need a shit load of practise. Hopefully with the shotty and my next addition I can sort of train around this.
