Re: taking my Glock on a roadtrip.
I was thinking perhaps inquiring at a nearby hotel if I could use their facilities for a small fee. Otherwise if the campsite owners has facilities that could also work.
I'm not to confident about camping in durban central in a tent. The other guy has no FA training and the girls neither.

Re: taking my Glock on a roadtrip.
I wouldn't do that without a firearm myself!
Nearby hotel may sound like a good idea, but just search 'gun on holiday' or 'hotel safe' on this forum for the problems that goes with that... and that's when you are a paying guest!
It's a difficult one bro! Either you go and have to be Sad Sack and not swim etc, or you find the closest gunshop and book it in there for a few hours of beach fun every day...
My advice? You sound like a young guy out for some fun and relaxation... take the chance and book your firearm into a gunshop for the day and have some (relaxed) fun. You will (probably) feel naked without it but you'll still be way better off than the rest of the sheeple out there because you are aware (trust me: if you are used to carrying you will be so aware it's gonna freak you out) and you will probably have a variety of knives, sprays and batons on your person and in your beach bags... right?
At the end of the day it is going to come down to risk management: can you accept the level of risk with the tools and plans at your disposal..?
You will have to make the call (and live with the consequences, if any).Be ready for anything, and if his head is not at least two meters away from the body, do not 'assume' he is dead and out of the fight. - Ikor

Kings sports is the closest gunshop to the Durban central beaches that I can think of, about 2 or 3 blocks inland. 53 Hunter street (google map it)
whereabouts are you camping?
