Hunting Loads ?
Hi All
I finally got myself a Ruger SBH 7,5 barrel.
And now I'm looking for a hunting load using the following :
Hornady Cases
CCI 350
S265
Speer 270 gr Deepcurl Bullets
Looking at hunting Impala, Warthog.
Might be a chance that I can get my hands on some 2400 Powder again, but for now Somchem will have to do.
Please help

Re: Hunting Loads ?
Somchem recons a start of 19 and a max of 21gr for a cast 270gr bullet.
With a 250gr cast bullet I use 21gr for 1293fps.
With a 300gr cmj jacketed bullet, I used 19gr for 1221fps.
I would try 19 or 20gr S265 with a jacketed 270grainer. You don't need faster than 1200fps for imps or pigs. I'm presuming you will be shooting open sights, under 50m. If your SBH is scoped and you intend to shoot further, 19 or 20 gr should also work well.
I have yet to have a bullet (250gr swc/1200fps) stay in a warty, all have passed straight through, from all angles. My kudu bull also didn't stop complete penetration through both shoulders.
All above loads were done with my 7.5" SBH Hunter.
