LOUIS NAUDE KNIVES
I am wanting a South African knife for hunting. I quite like the design of Louis Naudes Buteo. I was wondering if you guys have any comments on Louis's knives?

Re: LOUIS NAUDE KNIVES
That is a really beautiful knife, Richard83.
I like the nice hollow grind, the drop point and the minimal metal "furniture" on the knife (which will keep it light). While the wood is pretty, I think that micarta (or another synth material) is better for a working knife. Try as I might, my knives get a lot of blood on them and are often exposed to water. Beautiful wood does also not weather drops and falls too well.
I am currently using a knife with tiger stripe micarta made by Theo Lyon - the thing has utility written all over it. I have done one hunt with it, and it worked realy well. The tiger stripe works well from the standing out in the field perspective. I plan to write a little review of the knife, with some pics from my next hunt for furred game (which is a full month away - I do not know how I am going to survive until then!!).

Re: LOUIS NAUDE KNIVES
Thanks for the response sweet. I am going to get it made with a hippo tooth handle. I like the look of wood but as you mentioned its not practical.
