I also have the field version.

Lends itself better to digging trenches and making holes than cutting.

It aint a slicer, but makes for a nice crowbar.

The GLOCK FM78 and 81 are not bayonets. They are field knives.

They are made in house at GLOCK , and predate the pistols.

Thanks BigT. What i was saying all along !. only thing is that although being identical, mine was made by Puma. To HoggerNaut: Not much finesse in that blade bit it does take quite an edge. Mine is hollow-ground.Does well for dragging through beach sand looking for mussels. I can also put it into a head-sized target at 5m, and with the weight and some power would probably penetrate surprisingly well.

Ok, so how do you explain the article I found and the design of the Glock 78?

Will be interesting to find the history , these knives have been around a long time.

Someone else who has the opinion it could bayonet.

Actually it was designed to be a bayonet for use on the Steyr AUG assault rifle. There is a metal socket at the rear, covered up by a plastic plug.

The AUG bayonet is a traditional style bayonet that sits under its barrel.

    Apparently original GLOCK marketing material.
