Re: .375H&H Restoration and rebuilding project
Thank you kindly , yes the aftermath of a heart -attack is going back on a snails pace...to afraid to do to much...hurting yourself..is always at the back of one`s foggy mind...but I have today been up and busy with the project ...very very slowly...I need to give attention to detail regarding the metal to wood finish...for instance the thumb-hole must still be filled in...sanding work at the tang needed to be worked down...
Today I was more busy concerning the worked down of the fore-end tip of ivory...did some sanding...removed some unwanted spots and polished the ivory tip ...If some-one, the experts is able to tell me more about the crest on the receiver ring on the Coggswell &Harrison barrel.it.will be a bonus for me...as you can see the barrel is very long...now what should I do.???? Keep it that way or shortening it with 2"inches? I am assembling the front sight...express V sight ...and contemplating if I need to attache a scope or shoot it open sights up to a hundred meters in bush veld country..any suggestions will be appreciate.

Oooooh! Cannon!
She looks very nice, not in need of shortening. How's the balance?Be ready for anything, and if his head is not at least two meters away from the body, do not 'assume' he is dead and out of the fight. - Ikor

Gert, that is awesome work...and it is a great privilege to watch this piece of beauty solidified, take shape in front of our eyes! It is also so nice to see your son working with you on this project. I feel that too few fathers build things of pride with their children. What could be better than building a rifle with your child?
Thank you for sharing this project with us!
