I know this is very short notice but maybe there is someone who is interested.
Late cancellation of package hunt for 12/07 - 15/07 on a beautiful 2000 hectare Game Farm in the Dwaalboom area. The farm is +/- 50km north of Thabazimbi and about 350km from Jhb. It is a inner farm and 80% flat bushveld and the rest mountain. This is truly one of the best Game / Hunting Farms in the area.
R31 000-00 ( Including VAT )
PACKAGE INCLUDES
　
1 x Kudu Female
1 x Blue Wildebeest Female
1 x Gemsbok Male / Female OR 1 x Zebra
8 x Impala Female OR 8 x Warthog Female
2 x Impala Male OR 2 x Warthog Male
Daily rates included for three (3) days.
Accommodation for three (3) nights for 13 people. Bring only what you gonna eat and drink.
Reasonable firewood.
Skinning and gutting of animals.
Vehicle is included for the dropping off of hunters and carcass collection only. Use other than stated is charged according to usage.
NOT INCLUDED IN PACKAGE
Food and drinks, Ice, Rifles and ammo.
Tips for staff: 5 x Trackers @ R200-00 each for the weekend - R1000-00
2 x Skinners @ R180-00 each for the weekend - R 360-00
2 x Cleaners @ R150-00 each for the weekend - R 300-00

R5000-00 deposit is required to confirm your booking - NON REFUNDABLE
Walk and Stalk.
Maximum of five (5) hunters ( with tracker ) may hunt at once.
Please do not give any of the staff any alcohol.
Please do not try to bribe the trackers - They get double the amount what you offered them when they report it to me - Believe me it works.
You will not be allowed to hunt or even handle a firearm when I think that you are under the influence of alcohol or any drugs.
Please bring your own knifes and sharpeners for skinners to work with.
Bow hunters are welcome ( 4 bow blinds ).
Non-package animals hunted are charged at normal rates.
Any game shot or wounded and can not be found must be paid for in full.

Hi Dries

As the farmer, you have the right to charge whatever prices you want to (and the hunter has the right to hunt wherever he feels he is getting a good deal) so please do not take what I am to say below the wrong way. I am not questioning your right to charge whatever you want. I am perplexed, however, that you are charging R31,000 for the above package. It seems way too high considering that:

- Normally package hunts are cheaper because you have to spend the full package amount - you don't have the luxury of, say, hunting only two impala each if you choose to.
- Often, with package hunts, you still have to pay for the entire package even if you don't get all the animals you are entitled to. I don't know how it works in this case.
- Given that you are only a week out from the hunt I would have thought that discounted prices would help ensure that you sell the package

Based on what I have said above, I would have thought that if you charged as follows, the package would be good to go. I have indicated what I think a reasonable discounted price would be for each "item", given the circumstances.

3 x Kudu Female/Blue Wildebeest Female @ R2,400 each = R7,200
1 x Gemsbok Male / Female OR 1 x Zebra @ R3,900 = R3,900
8 x Impala Female OR 8 x Warthog Female @ R550 each = R4,400
2 x Impala Male OR 2 x Warthog Male @ R750 each = R1,500
Daily rates included for three (3) days.
Accomm (max 13 people) for three (3) nights @ R1,250 per night = R3,750

TOTAL PACKAGE COST = R20,750

Anyway, like I said, your farm, your rules, your prices. I hope you sell the package. Good luck with it.

Hello Dimitri, thanks for the tap on the fingers, I am Not the farmer. Sorry if I brought you under that impression, I cant see how, But anyway. I got an email from the farmer who I have hunted with a few times and where I have taken alot of groups to. It looked like a fair deal to me and I thaught other people would be interested aswel.

The package is R26-500-00, INCL. It is inclusive of all as I stated above and up to 13 people- FIRST MISTAKE. I added ( or I was supposed to add R500-00 NOT R5 000-00- for helping with my petrol, accom., etc - But as you can see my maths let me down. SECOND MISTAKE).

I thought there may have been some error somewhere. R26,500 incl VAT looks more like a fair value proposition. Thanks for clearing it up.

Did you guys manage to sell the package and how did the hunt go? Did the hunters get their game?
