Tekut Knives
Hey guys
Anyone have any experience or opinions regarding Tekut knives?
I purchased the Tekut Ares folder yesterday. Initially I was sceptical regarding the quality, but I have to admit, I am quite impressed (considering the price). The build quality seems excellent, absolutely no blade play, the liner lock is recessed and lockup is very secure.
The blade is 9.25cm / 3.7" and is made of Titanium Nitrate coated 7Cr17MoV steel and comes out of the box shaving sharp. The scales are G10 and the liners are stainless steel. The pocket clip is black coated stainless steel and can be changed for either tip up or tip down carry (right side only).
It can be opened with either the thumb studs, flipper (like the CRKT M16 / M21 range) or in a wave style (the flipper on the spine of the blade's side has serrations which catch the pocket and opens the blade).

7Cr17MoV – DealExtreme Forum
These guys think it is a inferior Chinese steel but I am no authority on this.

Looks like a CRKT knock-off.

Re: Tekut Knives
Its a good knife and yes it is a rip off of a CRKT, BUT from experience its a good blade. A friend of mine has had one for 2 years now and its still going strong. The RH of the blade could be higher as it needs sharpening more often than my kershaws, but lock up is still tight, the ugly camo on the blade hasn't worn off, the scales don't move and there is no play in the blade.
Paddy
p.s. He uses it everyday to open boxes etc.

Re: Tekut Knives
ok,so i was being kind.it looks like ass,and for the 300 buck just how much fucking knife do you guys expect.sorry boys, thats a piece of shit, and,in my not so inconsiderable experience, knives of this price are crap, quality, build materials, the works.
btw,i don't rate CRKT as well.
this never amazes me.we talk about "tier 1 guns" and recognize quality there, but when it comes to knives, most gun owners accept and carry crap.i take knives to a gunfight
