Question Who would be interested in this little project?

    Hi everyone

Me again on one of the other threads [ http://www.gunsite.co.za/forums/show...t-Knives/page2 ] i posed the question to Harm whether it would be possible to perhaps come up with an 'affordable' liner-lock folder for the members of the forum, to use for EDC.

Harm then came back with the following -

i'd use 1.6 mm Ti for the liners, which is as thin as i'd go for liners, textured G10 for the scales, and a 3mm N690 blade.machine finish on the blade,no ano on the liners.overall finish would be minimal, but not crap,to keep the cost down.
i'd use my warhead edc profile.
    so ya,this could work.
So we're looking at the following -

A liner-lock EDC folder, designed around the wants and needs of the members of the forum, without being overly expensive. Although we're looking at a price around R1300, this, remember, is a custom made knife, by an extremely capable, skilled, and accomplished craftsman, and anyone who has seen some of his finished works can attest to this.

The specs will be along the following lines -
    - 1.6 mm Ti liner
    - textured G10 scales
    - 3mm N690 blade with machine finish
    - "warhead edc" blade profile.

As i said gents, we're looking to throw around some ideas for an EDC knife, built by gunsite members, for gunsite members. We're trying to gauge some interest before pushing ahead.

Please feel free to throw around some ideas and input. We'd like this to be as constructive as possible.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

Do you perhaps have some pics or a link of something similar to have a look at. The specs you mentioned above are like Greek to me.

well, since i'll probably be making said knives,i'll post a pic of the knife profile i propose.
the liners will be thicker than standard Emerson liners, blade will be about as thick as a commander.
i can build a prototype, but that will take a some time.
i'll use a "standard" pocket clip [as opposed to a custom poscket clip].
this is a 3mm blade with 1.6 mm liners [i will use a dual thumb stud instead of the thumb disk for opening] -

Harm, what does the warhead blade profile look like? what about one like the top blade in the pic - http://imageshack.us/f/846/comp1n.jpg/

Also, whats your opinion on the spyderco "eye" to assist with opening? just a thought :) I'm not used to the dual thumb stud for opening, so not too clued up on how easy it is :)
