Which AR's are available for purchase?
Hi Guys
I am looking into buying an AR type rifle, but I want to make sure that I know what there is to choose from, before I decide! Money is also scarce so ...... anyway. I know of following and considered them:
Remington R25
NEA
Norinco
Astra arms
I like the Remington and NEA the most, but I want to know what other options there might be?
Can DS ARMS inc.'s products be bought in South Africa, I have seen on their website some nice guns( I prefer the longer barrels 18-20 inch) They have a M16a1 old school look a like which I really like in 20 inches and a standard flat top which is also nice.
Can I get those rifles here and what other options are there?
Thanks

Re: Which AR's are available for purchase?
I e-mailed DSA about their FN's some time back and they told me they do not have an agent in SA. I don't know if this has changed.

Re: Which AR's are available for purchase?
Rifles from the states (DSA, etc,)require an 'end user' certificate IIRC and thus a deposit up front as well as paperwork. Guns from other places such as Canada, etc,. may not require such.
If looking at a new AR15 rifle today in SA I would probably look hard at the NEA 14.5in. Are there others that are good choices? Yes. Worth the added costs? IMO, no. But that IS just my opinion.Run Fast, Bite Hard!
