I shoot from time to time with my EDC gear at matches. Big matches I run my gamer gear. Its a game no point adding a disadvantage.

I do almost all my training and practise with my carry gear.

That's understandable T since unlike me you have a reputation to uphold. ;)

OK I'll clarify the poll heading should read "I ALWAYS shoot IDPA with..."

Yarp only diff is i mostly use a photographers jacket (the pockets are handy for all the stuff, mags when unloading doppies that get handed over, score sheets, etc) with idpa where as in summer i carry t-shirt only.

But i do shoot the odd club shoot t-shirt only...

I started shooting our IPSC club leagues with my EDC gear this month and it was an eye opener. Draw is about .3 seconds slower than from my competion rig and the magchanges arent as fast either.

Will most probably shoot my last FS league with my competion rig and Shadow this month and then switch completly to my EDC gear(G17 and Carter IWB) for everything. Got a few raised eyebrows about it.

IPSC is even more of a 'game' than IDPA.

Perhaps take up IDPA as well, if you want to shoot with your EDC stuff, otherwise, what is the point?

No IDPA in Bloem, bit of a drive to go to Gauteng every weekend ;).

The point is muscle memory. I do about 300 rounds per weekend from a speed rig. I want to get to know my EDC gear a lot better than my sport gear. Best place to add a bit of stress is competitions at this stage. My focus has shifted mainly to SD. If I could go the IDPA route I would.

So start a IDPA club between the IPSC guys, i'm sure you can get 5+ of them to join up that also want to improve their EDC gear knowledge you already have a range.
