Do you shoot IDPA with your EDC gear?
A poll to determine if GunSite members prefer to use the same or different gear for EDC and IDPA sport shooting.
The poll is multiple-choice; select all the options that apply.

Re: Do you shoot IDPA with your EDC gear?
I shoot from time to time with my EDC gear at matches. Big matches I run my gamer gear. Its a game no point adding a disadvantage.
I do almost all my training and practise with my carry gear.

Yarp only diff is i mostly use a photographers jacket (the pockets are handy for all the stuff, mags when unloading doppies that get handed over, score sheets, etc) with idpa where as in summer i carry t-shirt only.
But i do shoot the odd club shoot t-shirt only...

Re: Do you shoot IDPA with your EDC gear?
I started shooting our IPSC club leagues with my EDC gear this month and it was an eye opener. Draw is about .3 seconds slower than from my competion rig and the magchanges arent as fast either.
Will most probably shoot my last FS league with my competion rig and Shadow this month and then switch completly to my EDC gear(G17 and Carter IWB) for everything. Got a few raised eyebrows about it.

Re: Do you shoot IDPA with your EDC gear?
No IDPA in Bloem, bit of a drive to go to Gauteng every weekend ;).
The point is muscle memory. I do about 300 rounds per weekend from a speed rig. I want to get to know my EDC gear a lot better than my sport gear. Best place to add a bit of stress is competitions at this stage. My focus has shifted mainly to SD. If I could go the IDPA route I would.
