Re: Sun City and Firearm Storage
Thanks. Having not been to Sun City for a couple of decades and change I didn't know how the various parts related. My function was at the 'shebeen' and I didn't go near the hotel, casino or valley of the vaves etc. There was no searching or scanning and I could have been carrying without issue. I will not do this sort of thing unarmed again. The route to and from my home goes through a number of iffy choke points and has long stretches of isolated pitch dark roads which gave me lots of time to consider how inadequately armed I was with a Lasher Khukri and collapsible baton should SHTF. A Pangolin gun safe will shortly be finding it's way into my bakkie shortly to allow for a bit of flexibility.

Re: Sun City and Firearm Storage
2 Years ago I used the safe in the room at the Vacation Club, but the COVID Patrol really pissed on my batteries, every single person working there was drunk with Authority, anyhow now that its over and my Kids really enjoy it there, we Going back next month, I have snuck anything From my old G34 to my G48 into places in the back of the Pram, so there's that if I'm not happy with what they supply, I wont drive there unarmed, I don't mind doing the entertainment area and valley of waves unarmed at all though...

Safes in rooms but screwed not bolted to walls. Zero checks in any area.

Sun City and Firearm Storage
From the last time I’ve been there, you just enter. Then keep in the hotel safe if needed.
Wasn’t searched anywhere though. A bag might have been searched but more for bringing food in.
Note: This was 2022 or so. Not sure if anything changed
