If by 'hotel safe' you mean the one in the room I'd recommend very strongly against that. They are neither gun spec safes safes, nor are they under your sole control as the hotel has the physical keys which override the code pads.

Thanks gents. Definitely not going to leave it in the room. Looking to be able to drop it off on check-in and collect on check-out a few days later.

Thanks Ahmedoo. However, I am going to spending a fair amount of time with some (much) younger nieces and nephews. Between VOTW and the waterworld section, I don't fancy carrying a G19 all day.

Call the Casino and ask to speak to the Security Duty Manager on shift, he will be able to tell you how the gun drop procedure works and where it's located, as for most casino's it's fairly simple, by the main entrance there's an office, it's usually referred to as the Lost & Found office or Gun Drop office, you step inside and inform the S/O that you would like to leave your FA there, they will ask for your license, record your details in the register and give you a copy, give you a ENVO type bag, you will then make your FA safe, there's usually a bullet trap device inside the cubicle, then place your FA and magazine/s inside the bag and give it to the S/O. They will lock it up inside the dual key safe and hand you one of the keys and your receipt.

PS: Just be mindful after 24 hours they will call to inform you that your FA has still not be collected, if you don't respond they will escalate it to the local Police station.

Thanks Branden, exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated.
