Sword Importation

Hey Guys,
I was wondering if you guys could help me! I asked a while ago in regards to blade lengths and importation of big knives etc because I was bringing in some knives. Glad to report that they all got here safe and sound with no problems with customs. Happily got my Cold Steel Recon (Clip Point) and Cold Steel Trail Master. Unfortunately, in a recent outing I lost my Recon and want to bring in another. At the same time, a friend wants to bring in a Katana. Now, I was a bit paranoid about bringing in my 9.5" Trail Master, you can imagine that I am a bit uneasy about bringing in a 30" sword!

Is this possible or will it get held at customs? Any laws against this / do I need a special permit to bring it in?

Would really appreciate the help as I cannot find anything specific to swords on the ITAC website or anywhere else for that matter. Also been phoning around like crazy and everyone just punts me off to the next sod and the vicious cycle continues. Someone eventually gave me an email address I need to send the question to, but its been a couple of days and no response :S

there's no legal restrictions on owning swords or knives of any length. problems arise if you start swinging them around in public

Thanks prepare2win :) I am aware of this though, Im particularly concerned with the importation of the above and if it will get stuck at customs?

I really don't see why it should. there are tons of cheapy swords brought in and sold at chinese shops, plenty overseas online sellers offering swords on local websites like bidorbuy, as well as all the better quality sellers like sharp edge, blades and bows etc.

they all seem to be doing just fine
