    You want a crowbar to get in?
    But the play is not between the door edge and the safe wall, it's the play between the inner part of the door and rim. Crowbar can't get jammed in there.
    But they can steal anything if they want to, no amount of bolts or so will keep them out.

    Google pointed me here... I am resurrecting this thread.

    Dickie, Do you have any news wrt the VESA installers' accreditation to install vehicle safes?

    I've just been scrolling through this thread while contemplating getting a ccw and having somewhere to store it while at work.

    I believe one of the other requirements of the approval for a car safe is that an immobilizer be installed in the car used- will try to find the relevant document stating this.

    vehicle, and the owner of the firearm shall obtain a certificate issued by the installer wherein the
    following particulars are specified:
    a) date of installation;
    b) name and address of installer;
    c) registration number, engine and chassis number and make of vehicle; and
    d) that the vehicle is equipped with an immobilizer

    Car safes are a great thing to have. Especially if you do a lot of travelling/overlanding. Immensely useful.
