Default My new Norinco CQ,want to go tacticool

    Hi all,

I just bought myself a Norinco CQa. I shot 3gun with ther and she shot like a dream, out the bos, no failures. Almost as cool as my Glock.

I want to hear what your thoughts are on the Norinco as well as the story that you shouldn't shoot militar "ball" rounds 5.56mm through it and only .223?

Now comes the fun stuff, where can I get me some Tacticool accesories? I want to start out with a quad rail, anyone got tips where I can buy rails?

Lets do the thread like this, post what you would improve on the weapon in order.

I'm going to start out out: replace the foregrip with a quad rail

You can shoot 5.56 through these, they are intended as military weapons.
We have a bunch of accessories in stock now. Quad rail, you can look at NCStar, FAB defense (3 types) or Astra Arms. All will easily fit.
Magpul furniture on the way. Suggest a quad rail, Magpul pistol grip and then a magpul or FAB rear stock (Norinco is commercial buffer tube)
There are nice Astra rail covers (or others in stock) and then you can look at foregrips/optics etc.
Nice things to import yourself....BAD Lever.
The Norinco already has an ambi mag release (Norgon style...so you saved $80) so the rest is just how you prefer to pimp your AR.

Look at the Magpul MOE fore ends. If all you need is a light and maybe a fore grip, they are lighter and much less expensive and they work well. I am also a big fan of the MOE and CTR stocks. I would definitely look at a good light if you think you might grab it when things go 'bump' in the night and the best for the money right now is the SureFire P2X Fury single stage...500 lumens of see in the dark!

I'd also get a good sling. I prefer a two point like the Vickers slings but others prefer a good single point. After that I'd get an Aimpoint H-1 (unless I thought some night vision gear was in my future) and a lower 1/3 co-witness mount. Then buy ammo...lots of ammo.

As you use it and shoot it you will see other changes you want to make.

    Great Stuff thanks guys.

Shops you would recomend I go look in for the gear?

How long can I expect to wait for the Licence? Applied with my dedicated status and have a pretty rock solid motivation (I hope)

I am also after some kit for my recently approved M&P 15-22. I need flip up sights. Riser for my Nikon Monarch Red DoT, Sling and Foregrip.

Why would one swop the standard grip and/or stock with a Magpul version?

I hope you don't mind be sharing this thread with you? I'll be following closely. Congrats on the addition to your family!

Just a word of caution with the Magpul MOE and CTR stocks for the M4 platform, take a vernier that can read inches and check the diameter of the buffer tube before you order one- there are two sizes, commercial at 1.17" and milspec at 1.14". Both my 15-22 and YHM are Milspec. Dont assume that yours is one or other size, check it to avoid a waste of cash and time. Magpul, and most other stock suppliers, offer both sizes.
