Default New Mossberg.308 or used Sako deluxe .270

for the same price I can choose between a used (but mint condition) SAKO .270 Deluxe with scope and reloading equipment (incl brass ans some bullets) or a brand new Mossberg 100ATR 26010 with similar scope but no extras. I will be hunting Springbok, Impala, Blesbok and Kudu. Which is best??

I would go with the Sako on condition that it is in actual fact in mint condition. I would say that the Sako is a better choice but as with any second hand firearm.....make sure about the condition!!!!! Try to get a expert opinion like that of a Gunsmith and / or the oppertunity to shoot the firearm in question (if possible)

I am with Corne on this one...

Rather a 40% condition Sako than a 100% Condition Mossberg

I don't know the Mossberg rifles only their shotguns. I can only tell you that Sako's are very accurate and they actions are smooth. lv29

It is a Sako Finbear - About 20 years old - Price is R6000 including all doppies, reloading equipment, sling, bag, scope and cleaning equipment.
The price on the new Mossberg is R6500 without scope.
    I am also considering a 2nd hand Remington700 .308 with 3-9 x 40 Lynx @ R7000 and
New Weatherby Vanguard (Synthetic) .270 @ R7000 (no scope) - Not sure if it is a .270 Win or WSG
