Question Spelling mistake on my license?

I Recently went to collect my rifle from my gunsmith....
While he was filling in the details he
informed me of my surname spelled wrong on my license?
Not so much spelled wrong (Just one letter missing from my surname)

Upon further inspection i found that
All my licenses and competency was
    the same.

Is this going to be a problem?
Do i really need to fix it?

    Thx in advance

Well not sure if you need to fix it, my mothers license doesn't have her picture, and doesn't have a fingerprint on it. She's not worried, she says if cops pull her over and give her lip about it then she'll give them K*K saying its their own problem for the F#*K up, and that her old green card didn't have one mistake.. Lol

You can request a reprint at your DFO, but not sure if there will be costs involved.

In the light of home affairs having upped their game recently, it's probably easier to have your surname changed...

I would not worry. Spelling is not very high on the priority list of the law enforcing officers.

Until you get that one officer who is on a power trip (especially if you are in Jeffreys ;)) and wants to make life difficult for you.

At least check that your ID number and the firearm's serial number is correct. Then you can give the LEO your ID as proof.

Disclaimer: by no means do I think all LEO's are on power trips.

As long as it's not a crucial error like "Mr Simpiwe Tshabala" and it should be "Mr John Smith" you should be OK.
