Yes, the four gun limit still applies. I have a Glock 22 and Winchester 1300 licensed as section 15.

Not only that but you are still limited to a max of 2 handguns .

What is the difference in requirements between applying for occasional sports shooters and applying for dedicated sport shooters licenses?
If occasional entitles you to 2 handguns, what does dedicated entitle you to?

    Very different things.

To get dedicated status you must join a recognized sport such as IDPA or IPSC, participate and earn points. Depending on the sport, a certain amount of points are needed to achieve this. For SADPA (www.sadpa.co.za) for example, you need about 20 points. You can achieve this if you attend about 6 or more shoots.

There is no limit on how many handguns you can have, but you must be able to motivate each license, and maintain your status.

For occasional sport, you need to belong to a recognized sport or club - but only entitles you to one more handgun, in addition to your SD firearm (if you have one). You also need to motivate exactly what you need it for (certain SADPA devision, for example).

There have probably been many threads about this, use the search function to find them.

Certain sports and their divisions may have calibre limits.

For instance, the minimum calibre in IDPA is 9X19.

I excluded it because it's only recognised at club level and not at sanctioned matches.
