I have a Remington Model 34 .22 LR that my Dad gave to me a number of years ago. It is the bolt action rifle that has the tube magazine under the barrel.

The stock has been replaced as the original one broke at the pistol grip.

At the moment, the rifle still has iron sights that I find difficult to adjust. The rifle is, however, accurate and produces good groupings.

At this point, I am considering fitting a scope to the rifle so that I can use this to start my son off on his shooting journey. The issue is that the rifle does not have scope mounts and will need to be drilled and tapped in order to accommodate scope mounts.

My question is whether anyone has had any experience in fitting a scope to the same model rifle?

I presume that I would need to take the rifle to my local gunsmith to see if they are able to do the work to fit scope mounts.

Any suggestions / help will be most appreciated.

Thanks and regards
