    Default Bringing knives into S.Africa.

I'm heading back there in a couple days and I'd like to bring in a couple blades. Both of them look the business so airport authorities may flip out over them. They're both fixed fighting-type knives. One is a 4.5" single edged and the other is a 7" Fairbairn-Sykes(it's a gift for someone... not for sale, sorry!). Can I expect problems at the airport?

Just stick them in you "handled baggage" no problem As long as you don't try and take it on board with your hand luggage or on your person.

    Yep.

Stick 'em in your checked luggage and wrap the bags if possible, just for those airport staff with long fingers.

    No one? No worries...

That's obviously a stock image. Mine is semi-serrated and in Sage. I guess it's only a 3.5" blade too. Sure seems like more when you're using it.

no issue what so ever (as above ) , few months ago i came back with some of my Dads collection (which inc. Japanies swords as well ) i declare it in custom , explain why i bring it in and had no issues . how ever remember to indicate that it is your personal item and it is for display and not for sale , will save you a long paper work and some money ....
