Thumbs up Valdor Uren / Strand Guns

I've been doing business with Valdor Uren at Strand Guns for just over a year now.

I buy most of the spare parts and accessories for my Glocks and all my reloading accessories and supplies (except bullets) from him. I also bought my SLR and 223 ammo through him.

He has a very small shop and doesn't keep a lot of stock. I usually email for a quote, place my order, do an EFT and then collect a week or two later.

It has always been a great experience, he is always helpful and friendly, offers great advice and his prices are hard to beat. E.g. I just bought 10000 S&B small pistol primers from him for R255/1000.

For anyone staying Cape Town who is looking for a good supplier, I highly recommend his shop. Give him a call or swing by to have a chat; it will be worth your while.

I second this. Valdor is the MAN. What an absolute squire and gentleman... Alway has time for his customers regardless of how silly the query may be.

    Hi Bighunter

    Yes, he is.

I had a chat with him about that on Saturday. I understand his argument, which is that he wants to be able to defend himself honestly if it came down to a legal procedure where he has to answer in court as to whether or not he acted in a reasonable manner when he sold someone 1000 rounds of ammunition.

It only takes one guy to do something stupid.

Well I don't understand his argument at all.

If the client has a creen license or a S16 license then the dealer cannot be at any risk at all by supplying 100000 rounds at a time.

It's black letter law. No educated guesses or reading of tea-leaves involved.

Sounds like someone has been watching too much CNN !! This isn't the States !!! With the rand going down the toilet at a rate of knots and ammo becoming scarce - it makes sense to buy as much as you can legally own and afford.

Having 1000 rounds in your safe has absolutely no relevance in a criminal case where you used a FA in self-defence.
