Default When to clean a Glock

How often do I clean my Glock 26. I have only put some 62 rounds through it it's the 1st month I have it. Plan on shooting at least twice a month. But do I clean after every shoot or monthly? Plan on using Hickok45's cleaning methods.
How often do you guys clean?

If your going to shoot so little then clean it after every time you shoot! Only takes like 20 min or so! Rather have it clean as the burnt powder residue can cause corrosion when mixed in with your sweat from EDC, cleaning your gun after every shoot is a good habit anyway!

I prefer to clean at least the barrel after every day at the range.

Hickok45 uses just too little lube IMO.. I don't over do it but I lube it as directed in the glock manual.

What I like about his method is not to spray the cleaner in the bottom end as this goes in everywhere and clogs up dirt and residue.

I clean it after every shoot.
    1) Field strip
    2) Spray cleaning oil into barrel
    3) Spray cleaning oil on to recoil spring
    4) Spray front section of slide (keep that stuff away from firing pin)
    5) Brush down the bottom end and put some cleaning spray on an earbudd and get in there deep
    6) Brush down the slide and get in there with an earbud and wipe it everywhere
    7) Push cleaning rod through barrel couple of times
    8) Push rod with swabs through barrel till it does not give off residue anymore
    9) Brush down recoil spring.
    10) Oil slide rails and the part where the chamber top contacts the slide
    11) Oil barrel outside (keep tip and chamer feed ramp dry)
    12) Assemble slide
    13) Using an earbud oil all metal parts in the frame
    14) Drop of oil by the trigger connector
    15) Re assemble your Glock and wipe all excess oil on the frame and slide..

That's my ritual but as long as its cleaned and lubed you will be G2G.

Less oil is more with glocks!

Glocks aren't an unstoppable force, where most guns may finction if filthy (maybe), why do want to test that when it counts most, ie your life is in danger. Clean it after you use it.

The general advice we give rookie cops is simple...clean and relube a) after each shooting session (a single magazine does not constitute a session IMO) or b) after any extreme or unusual event, such as having to stand out in the rain at a scene or on a search, falling into water, mud or sand, etc. or C) at the least a once a month 'quick check' where the gun is field stripped, a dry patch run down the bore, inspected and...if needed...perhaps a small bit of lube reapplied, reassembled and safety checked befotre being loaded and returned to duty.

We try our best to have them do that minimal quick check when they pay their bills monthly and it should also include a look at the magazines and the ammo loaded in them (no, don't download all your ammo, just a look at the top rounds and a check to make sure Murphy has not managed to dent a magazine or gift you with a loose floorplate, etc.

You don't have to be anal about it, but a clean, properly lubed gun functions better than a dirty or bone dry one, and CCW will allow lint, sandspurs, chocolate mousse and all sorts of other shid inside the gun in the course of a year if you fail to check it!
