Sharpener's which one????
Hello All
i have a question about sharpening sets, i recently got a spyderco manix 2xl full flat grind, now the problem is i had a lansky sharpening kit (lost it some where when i was moving) i still have a lansky pocket crock stick sharpener just to touch up when my knives get bit dull but it is no good for re-profiling and such.
Now to the question what sharpening kit should i get for my self? I like the lansky system but i hear it is not good on a full flat grind blade and the spyderco sharp-maker is not good in re-profiling or takes a long time to do so?
I live in South Africa and the spyderco sharp-maker is about R 1000 (the cheapest price i could get on it here) and the lansky 5 stone R 555??????
I'm leaning to the sharp-maker atm!
or any other sharpening kit's??
thanx in advance

Re: Sharpener's witch one????
I use lansky on all my knifes and combined with some stropping its got an unbeatable edge! I have no experience with the sharp maker though!
I have the std lansky, diamond lansky and the arkansa set.. But the green std hone gives me the edge I want on my carry knife. I only use the diamond rough to change angle on a knife but otherwise I just touch up with the green hone and strop it on my jean!

To be honest get the 3 stone kit, red, green and blue! Later get the diamond rough!

I prefer the Gatco sharpeners but I'm not sure if you get them in SA.

On sharpeners, how do I return the shaving edge to my straight edge razor?
