JS4, that is doing AAR like THE Boss! Well done.

Some basic feedback from m: These events are always challenging and require more than physical ability but also the correct mindset. Well done to all the guys who participated.

Some lessons learned in no particular order.: You really need to get your gear tweaked to work under real field conditions. My pack was too heavy, ie heavier than it needed to be. Trim out the stuff you can live without. Because I didnt take the time to sort out my pistol carry with my L1 gear (fighting gear) and my L2 pack (support gear), I now have a nice hole in my thigh that suggests I take the time to figure this out. The hip belt for the pack was bearing down on my pistol Carried IWB and forcing the muzzle end into my thigh, which ate a hole in it. Hydration is essential. Camelbak says "Hydrate or die" and they are 100% correct. Drink your fill before setting off and then little and often when under way. Watch out for over heating. Keep a positive outlook and banish negative thoughts. Do little things to improve comfort and you will enjoy it so much more.

What looks like a doddle on the map may not be as easy as it looks in reality. Good boots and socks are essential when hiking in rough country. Rifles with iron sights are effective even out to over 300m, yes even short barreled 556 versions, and combat effective fire is achievable at those ranges. Having said that, a scope makes seeing the target at those ranges much easier as well.

    So...

What does one do when one has some GoPro footage of the bush lane that you would like to share?

Why, you put it to some epic music of course - and what a bargain when the tempo and the words play along!

Enjoy - and let me know if the quality is too low (this one 76Mb - I have better versions as well).
