    Default Knife Choice Help

    Hi all,

I'm looking at getting myself a folding, partially serrated knife for bush-work. I do research in dangerous game areas and, although I have the qualifications, I am mostly not permitted to carry a firearm with me. I have a guard who is, but I don't have a reason to trust their abilities. I'm hoping I will never have to defend myself with a knife, but it won't harm having one.

I understand fixed blade would be best, but I prefer the idea of simply having the pocket clip. Any suggestions on brands and models would be greatly appreciated. Value for money is obviously important.

    Cheers

buying cheep is buying expensive if u get the cheapest knife u fine it wont last and if you going to use the knife as a tool witch it will become i'll say spend the extra money! I love spyderco's and this wont change, okay to the point go look at have2have.co.za they have a great selection of spyderco's and you cant beat there price here in south africa!

If you don't trust the guards' abilities then any old knife should be sufficient for taking his rifle from him.

Oh... wait... you actually want the knife for a dangerous game charge? Sorry, can't help you there. Maybe look at spears. ;o)
