How do you compare to the rest of the world?

Welcome to the 2009 IDPA Postal match

Rules are straightforward:

This is not a sanctioned match. It does not affect shooters' classifications nor count toward the two-match requirement for being eligible to shoot the Nationals.

You must set up the match stages as accurately as you can.

Concealment must be worn for all stages.

All competitors must be current IDPA members.

Scores may only be submitted by clubs with current IDPA affiliation.

All competitors must be classified Novice or above in the division in which they are shooting.

If a shooter is not classified in the division in which he is shooting but holds a current classification in another division, he may compete using the highest classification he presently holds per page 72 of the current rule book. The shooter's classification in the submitted results should show that classification, not "unclassified".

Each competitor may compete only once in any division. If more than one score for a division is submitted, the earliest match score will be used and other scores will be rejected.

Each competitor may compete in more than one division, as long as rules 6 through 8 are followed.

All scoring must be done using the software supplied on the IDPA website. This will generate a file that you can e-mail.

All scores must be submitted as an attachment to an email sent to PostalMatch09 at idpa.com or saved to disk and mailed to the IDPA Postal Match address.

To be counted, matches must be shot no earlier than August 15, 2009 and no later than October 31, 2009.

To be counted, scores must be received no later than November 8, 2009.

Any rule and/or stage clarifications required will be posted on the IDPA website.

A summary of how many competitors have participated will be updated on a regular basis on www.idpapostalmatch.com.

Following the final tallying of scores, match results will be posted on the IDPA website.

Will be shooting the 2009 IDPA Postal match on 19 September 2009 as our monthly club shoot. Will also include some close and quick COF's to increase the round count.

Just finished shooting/SOing the 2009 postal. First observation, get ready for "Revenge of the Killer Midgets", you'll know what I mean when you shoot it. Other thing, as an SO, some less experienced shooters seem to struggle to differentiate between tactical SEQUENCE vs. tactical PRIORITY. Favorite stage: Stage 4 (Brain Fade). Quick 'n nasty. Least favorite: Stage 1 (Table Games). I clearly suck at poker :-[
